Posterior  Restorations

Restoring a beautiful smile is the best thing you can do for a patient whether it be with a single tooth or a full mouth restoration. One way we can do this is by sending a good photo, or if you are fortunate enough and your practice is in our immediate area, have your patient come by our laboratory for a customized shade. We will take a series of photos and match the patients existing teeth and basically let the patient tell us what his expectations are. We will essentially have a three-way conversation,(the patient, the dentist and the lab). Our goal being to create an attractive smile, one in which the patient can be totally happy as well as the dentist and finally us.

Products that we use for posterior restorations include;

  • IPS e.max Lithium Disilicate - Depending on the indication and the required strength, dentists can choose the most suitable all-ceramic material. Lithium disilicate (LS2), which demonstrates superb esthetic properties, is used to restore single teeth in the anterior and posterior region. The lithium disilicate ceramics are suited for both the press technique and CAD/CAM applications. They are available in several degrees of translucency, providing a maximum level of esthetics – but not only that: Given their high strength (360-400 MPa), the IPS e.max lithium disilicate ceramics can be used for a broad range of indications. The zirconium oxide ceramic IPS e.max ZirCAD, however, is used for large restorations, for example posterior bridges, which are exposed to high masticatory forces.
  • Zirconia substructure with IPS e.max Ceram
    • Within the IPS e.max system, the veneering ceramic is the key to highly esthetic results, both on lithium disilicate (LS2) and on zirconium oxide (ZrO2). The advantages are an exact shade match and a single, universal layering diagram. Moreover, all restorations veneered with IPS e.max Ceram demonstrate the same clinical behaviour, such as wear and gloss.
      IPS e.max Ceram is available in Chromascop and A-D shades, as well as in 4 Bleach BL shades. In addition to the technically mature range of additional materials, the assortment is rounded off with the IPS e.max Ceram Gingiva shades for the fabrication of esthetic gingiva reproductions for all-ceramic restorations, particularly with implant superstructures.
  • Monolithic Translucent Zirconia
    • We use NexxZr T, the translucent zirconia from Sagemax, America's largest dental zirconia manufacturer, that has been trusted to be used in an estimated 9 million restorations worldwide.
    • We also use Ceramill Zolid a highly translucent, multi-indicative zirconium oxide used for fully anatomical and anatomically reduced frameworks. Its high translucency with long-term stability sets Ceramill Zolid apart from other dental ceramics.
  • IPS Empress
    • The tried-and-tested IPS Empress leucite glass-ceramic provided key impetus to esthetic dentistry in the nineties and it has never lost its importance. The press ceramic IPS Empress Esthetic and the ceramic blocks IPS Empress CAD are based on the same material composition. The two products demonstrate exceptional light-optical properties and strength values of 160 MPa. The highly esthetic all-ceramic single-tooth restorations, such as inlays, onlays, crowns and veneers blend in seamlessly with the surrounding dentition.

  • Captek

    • Captek™ technology provides the highest noble metal coping without casting.  The specially toned yellow gold color is an ideal background to achieve high esthetic crowns and bridges.                                                                                                                                                                        The metal composite Captek™ coping has a superb micromechanical bond to porcelain, with no oxide layer to tarnish the porcelain.              Captek™ can be extremely thin or built to any needed thichness, it is versatile from simple crowns to long span complex bridges.

  • Porcelain Fused to Metal Crowns (PFM)

    • We fabricate Porcelain Fused to Metal Crowns (PFM) . While many of our anterior restorations are made with technological advance materials there is always the need for PFM crowns on many occasions it is still one of the most widely prescribed replacement for natural dentition.
  • Temporaries
    • Shaded acrylic used for long-term temporary restorations
  •           TEMP temporary restorations can be fabricated fully anatomically and can also be veneered with conventional crown and bridge resins. They are           suitable for checking the fit and functionality of the actual restoration before it is finished, whereby the tooth-coloured material increases the                          acceptance of the try-in. Crowns and bridges of up to 14 units can be fabricated using TEMP. Customised, aesthetic gingival forming with implant             restorations is also possible.
